Hello Folks!
It is with great pride that we celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary of providing exceptional dental care at Smile Hilliard! As I reminisce about the past decade of this practice, I marvel at the growth and support from the community and the lives we’ve touched along the way.
I worked as a dentist for 7 years before creating Smile Hilliard. When I ventured out on my own, I became a new business owner overnight and had to build it from the ground up! In fact, if you picture the layout of the office, one of my treatment rooms was previously a huge walk-in cooler when the building was home to a pizza place! We experienced fast success and grew significantly in 2018, expanding both the physical size of the office and our team, and added our very special associate, Dr. Stephanie Henderson.
Then, there were even more changes in 2020 when the pandemic hit. Thank goodness these were only temporary…but do you remember getting your temperature taken? How about the X’s on the floor that were spaced 6 feet apart? I know my team is joyful to no longer have to wear the very tight N95 masks, an over-mask, bonnet, and face shield! The pandemic was a scary time full of uncertainty, but we handled it in the best way possible, taking the necessary precautions to safely care for our patients.
How Hilliard has changed too! I’ve called this beautiful town home since 2008. It’s where my husband and I have raised our family, where our kids go to school and participate in a hectic but awesome schedule of sports and activities, and where we knew our small family-run dental office would fit perfectly. We’ve been blessed with the building of the new Hilliard Recreation and Wellness Center right across the street and multiple new housing developments just down the road from us. Our little town is all grown up!
Speaking of maturing, Smile Hilliard once had a team of only 4. While we’ve had changes in our group over the years, I fondly remember each and every person who has contributed to our success and vision. But above all, I must congratulate our current 12 amazing team members for their unwavering dedication to our patients and community, their camaraderie with each other, and to the health of each patient they see! Without them, Smile Hilliard would be an empty basket. They fill it with love, kindness, empathy, teamwork, and a shared dedication and passion for caring for others.
Lastly, I reflect on personal growth and how my heart is full when I think of the totality of the Smile Hilliard family – the thousands of patients who have given me the opportunity to be their oral health care provider, who have listened to my jokes and stories to ease their mind, who have worked so hard to overcome their own fears and obstacles to perfect their smiles, and those who have trusted me to take care of their family as I would my own.
We will be commemorating this milestone throughout the year with office celebrations, throwback social media posts, and more! I invite you to think back on your own oral health journey and share your stories with us, your family, your friends, and neighbors.
