How To Prepare for Your First Appointment
Before your first appointment, we ask that you note any concerns you may have about your oral health. We enjoy creating a partnership with each patient to develop treatment plans that not only address oral conditions, but also any cosmetic desires you may have, however small.
Additionally, we ask that you bring a list of any supplements, prescription medications, and over-the-counter medications that you currently take. This is important to update and review at each appointment so that we can consider any medical conditions that may affect oral health.
Lastly, prior to your appointment, we will ask if you have any dental benefits that may assist with the payment of your care. We will complete a detailed analysis of your particular plan and notify you of any estimated patient costs or plan limitations prior to your appointment. You don’t have to lift a finger!
We are an unrestricted dental provider and are able to accept any PPO insurance plan that allows you to choose your dentist. Unfortunately, we cannot accept Medicare, Medicaid, Molina, and CareSource insurance plans or any HMO/DMO insurance where you are assigned to a specific provider. In these cases, we recommend you join our Smile Hilliard Membership Club!
What To Expect at Your First Appointment
When you visit our office, you will be greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from one of our Patient Care Coordinators. Please arrive at your first appointment about 10-15 minutes early so we can guide you through our easy, digital Fast Check-In kiosk. Rest assured that all of your private information is securely protected every step of the way!
Next, you’ll meet our clinical team, who will discuss with you your oral health history, any dental concerns you may have, and any aspects of your smile you’d like to address. We take our time to fully gather information on your oral condition including close up pictures so you see what we see! Your clinical team, including one of our fantastic dentists, will conduct a thorough oral exam and oral cancer screening.
Most importantly, if we detect any issues during your examination, we will discuss them with you and provide you with options for treatment. We are your partner to develop the best plan that suits your needs and goals, whatever they are!
