Panoramic X-Ray
Why Do I Need a Panoramic X-Ray?
A panoramic x-ray is a two-dimensional x-ray that captures a single image of the entire mouth, including all teeth, jaw bones, sinus cavities, and other critical anatomical structures. It has the following benefits:
- Improved Care: Allows us to view your hard-tissue oral structures including bones, joints, and teeth, and how they work together
- For Children & Teens: Useful in assessing orthodontic needs, wisdom teeth and early detection of growth and tooth abnormalities, including congenitally missing teeth
- For Adults: Useful for identification of TMJ issues, jaw abnormalities, cysts, tumors and oral cancer, leading to less invasive/expensive treatment and prolonged life
- Discover Changes: Taking a panoramic x-ray every 3-5 years allows us to see changes that occur in your mouth over time
At Smile Hilliard, every patient’s oral health is our number one priority, so we utilize the best dental technology and recommend preventative care to keep our patients smiling and healthy for the long haul. Have additional questions? Just ask!
